Young World Federalists, a movement which advocates a new form of global governance, one in which people cooperate to secure their common interest through a democratic world federation, invites you to the following discussion:

From Immanuel Kant to the Summit of the Future: How far are we from a more Kantian world?

As the United Nations embarks on an extremely rare comprehensive review process and considers proposals for Security Council reform, this question is as relevant as ever.

As we commemorate Kant’s 300th birthday, this expert roundtable bridges the gap between his timeless wisdom and the challenges faced by the United Nations in shaping a more just and harmonious world. Dive into Kant’s ideas of world federation and envision a not-so-distant future where reason, ethics, and cooperation guide our path toward a peaceful, just, and sustainable world.

This online panel discussion will feature four leading experts in the field of global governance reform:

  • Luisa Trumellini, the Secretary-National of the Movimento Federalista Europeo (UEF Italy).
  • Jo Leinen, a German politician and former Member of the European Parliament (MEP) from 1999 to 2019.
  • Maja Groff, an international lawyer based in The Hague and a Convenor of the Climate Governance Commission.
  • Fernando Iglesias, a Member of the Parliament of Argentina and Co-President of the World Federalist Movement-Institute for Global Policy.
